"...a wonderful musical experience... the up and coming blues-rock band BlueDog, is a powerhouse group features great musicianship and the searing vocal talents of Joni Buffalohead, a cross between Etta James and Janis Joplin..." The Albuquerque Alibi.

"...who would have guessed that from the frozen tundra of Minnesota a flame spitting blues band could emerge...shadows of Hendrix and SRV abound..." Dale Katz, The Carbondale Gazette.

"The new release, "From All Directions" by Oyate Music artists BlueDog, is a top notch recording in the blues-rock genre. This very talented group from Minnesota show it's musical and songwriting chops on this excellent nine song debut. Masterfully recorded by acclaimed award winning producer Tony Palmer (Breeds, RavenHeart, Robbie Robertson, Native Thunder) every song on this recording is emotional and heartfelt in its delivery. From the opening chords of "Little Ol' Feelin" to the final etude on the final track, there is never a dull moment and the vocal stylings of lead singer Joni Buffalohead are a joy to listen to throughout this wonderful release. Another hit from Oyate Music! 5 STARS!" Sally Jurgenson- News From Indian Country.

A noteworthy CD released in 2005 that escaped our attention at the time is From All Directions by BlueDog (Oyate Music), a five-piece rockin' blues band from the Twin Cities area. The nine high-energy tracks were co-written by Eric Buffalohead (Ponca) and vocalist Joni Weston-Buffalohead (Mdewakantonwan/Sisseton).
