Portrait of Eric Ashdown

The title “ Back Home Fiddle” is really appropriate for this album as I was born and raised in Saskatchewan and played a lot of fiddle there in my teen years ( accompanied by my late sister Doreen, brother Lonnie and cousins Bill and Cliff ) before moving to Fort Nelson, B.C. Saskatchewan is always referred to as home so going back to Saskatoon to record was going back home. My fiddle sounds good on the prairies.

Biography

This album is dedicated to my wife and best friend Linda who has always been my biggest fan and supporter. While enduring countless hours of fiddle music she has always encouraged me and helped to make this possible. God bless you.

I believe my Metis roots put this kind of music in my blood and I thank my Grandma Ashdown for this. I know she will be listening from her Eternal Home.

A special thank you to Kelly Parker of Turtle Island Music who produced and engineered this album and to the musicians for their work and talent.

Yours in fiddling

Eric Ashdown
