Members of the Grey Buffalo group are of Cree/ Saulteaux ancestry and reside on the Gordon First Nation. In 1979, the later George Longman sr. formed Grey Buffalo Singers. He inspired the love of singing and teaching of first nation values to his children and other relatives. Since that point in time the group has traveled throughout Canada and parts of the United States singing at Pow wow. Grey buffalo has won numerous singing contests as well as performed for the Prime Minister Paul Martin and the Women of Dawn Achievement Awards. Grey Buffalo Singers believe in preserving their culture through song and dance as the Creator has given the group the gift of song to perform for the dances and fans.
