Hector Menow (born January 4, 1963) is an Aboriginal Canadian singer, songwriter, and entertainer from Norway House, MB. Married with three children and five grandchildren, Hector did not let the call of the road or the attraction of the music scene take him, he pushed aside his dream and raised his children to adulthood before pursuing any kind of career in the music industry and to date he has released two albums. Hector’s “I don’t want to be famous, I want to inspire” motto sums up his whole persona, one of humility and respect, especially to the youth where he has taken many under his wing and helped them get off the ground so to speak by encouraging them and being a role model in the industry.

Biography

Hector Menow (born January 4, 1963) is an Aboriginal Canadian singer, songwriter, and entertainer from Norway House, MB. Married with three children and five grandchildren, Hector did not let the call of the road or the attraction of the music scene take him, he pushed aside his dream and raised his children to adulthood before pursuing any kind of career in the music industry and to date he has released two albums. Hector’s “I don’t want to be famous, I want to inspire” motto sums up his whole persona, one of humility and respect, especially to the youth where he has taken many under his wing and helped them get off the ground so to speak by encouraging them and being a role model in the industry.
Hector is also an advocate of the missing and murdered, he has organized and hosted four benefit concerts in Winnipeg these past 3 years on behalf of all the families of the missing and murdered, he states he will continue to host this concert as long as they need him.
In 1992, he released his 1st album entitled "Her Spirit Cries", engineered by Danny Shur, Published by Rig Publishing and manufactured by distributed by Sunshine Records. On June 7, 2011 Hector’s long awaited album “Rain Dancing was released. The album is 99% original with the exception of one song.
