Saskatchewans Moosomin First Nations recording artist Joseph Laplante has created a versatile package which lives up to his moniker Joey Stylez.
With a unique background, sound & look, Stylez is anything but the norm. And with a combined 2,500,000 video plays on Youtube he's managed to catch the attention of a diverse set of people, rising up from the underground and beginning to catch fire with the mainstream.
In June 2007 he was featured in mega hip hop Bible XXL, solidifying his street cred as a Canadian MC worth watching. In 2008 his controversial Living Proof reached #4 on Much Musics Rap City.
In the fall he debuted his next video Sugar Cane a pop hit that played heavily on Punch Much and scored a combined 600 000 plays on Youtube within a few months. So far Joey has had 3 videos in heavy rotation on Much Vibe and gained play across the spectrum of the Much Music channels.
In January of 2009 Stylez shot the video for his upcoming single Kool Runnin, a unique pop / rock / rap crossover that promises to bring him even more fans in the mainstream. The year of 2009 will also satisfy his hardcore fans as the album they've eagerly been waiting to debut will finally be released across North America. Loyal and new fans alike will also have a chance to check out Joey live across the continent through a series of booked performances.
