Marc's latest release "Philosophy For The Masses" features 10 new songs and guest musicians suchas; Donne Roberts, George Koller and Debashis Sinha. The first single "Close My Eyes" made it to the number 1 spot on the NCI-FM National Aboriginal Top 30.Marc was also featured on the big screen in Cineplex Theatres this past January 2009 as part of aspecial concert film which was taped the evening of his new album release. Marc has also recently been nominated for a Dora Award for Original Composition for his work on the production "Agokwe".

Biography

The man behind the project and the music is Marc Nadjiwan. Born in northern Manitoba and raised in the untamed beauty of Northwestern Ontario, Marc knew from an early age he would perform music.

After graduating from the Music Industry Arts program at Fanshawe College in Southern Ontario, Marcreturned to Thunder Bay where he began collaborating with other First Nations musicians. The first NADJIWAN compact disc titled "Brother", released in 1995 went on to achieve much success in bothCanada and the United States.In 2000, Marc released the album "Awake", featuring many well-known guest musicians such as AndyStochansky, Maury Lafoy, Arlene Bishop, Chris Gartner and Todd Lumley.

The album quickly generated great reviews and found its way onto many radio play lists on both sides of the border including manyUniversity/College radio top 40 charts. Several songs were also selected to be a part of the musicalsoundtrack for the theatre production "New World Brave".

Marc, performing solo or with his band, has traveled across Canada and the United States to appear at various music festivals including opening for Blue Rodeo on various occassions.In March 2005, Marc has released "Begin" which has received great reviews from critics and fans.Notably, "Begin" was one of Renegade Radio's Top 10 Albums for summer 2005. Recently, the single"Aambe" from this release has made it to the number 1 song spot on Hand of Grandfather's Top 5 singles. Marc also received a BEST MALE ARTIST nomination from the Canadian Aboriginal MusicAwards for this effort.

Marc is currrently lives in Toronto, Ontario. Although Marc has left the humble and untamed beauty of Northwestern Ontario, he will never forget his roots. The deepening red skies, flourishing forests andfresh running rivers will always remain in his heart, soul and music.
