Portrait of Rayne Delaronde

2008 has been a come back year for songstress and story teller Rayne DeLaronde. Since her debut CD Rayne was released in 2005, Rayne has been incredibly busy performing, writing and recording two more projects. The first of these two new CDs is the powerful and honest Forgiveness project which details graphically the internal and realistic struggles of many women who over the generations were victims of residential schools. From the title cut Forgiveness to the close to home Ripple, the listener gets a straight up reminder of the issues that have faced Aboriginal women for decades and that are now finally getting the attention and respect needed for all sisters to heal. A must listen, a must have, a healing CD indeed from one of the best story tellers in Aboriginal music.
