Biography
Shane Patterson is a Yankton Dakota who hails from the Yankton Dakota Reservation (Ihanktowan) in North Dakota. He was raised and taught the ways of the sacred pipe by Ate Neulan Dion Sr. and Ina Diane Crawford. It was Neulan Dion Sr. who introduced him to the NAC when he was small.
Shane was educated to always respect the Creator and how to show respect for those that have their relationships with God. He has completed his first University Degree double majoring in Native Studies and History. During that time he had a few NAC albums out.
His with Arbor Records entitled Moment of Sacredness received a 2008 Indian Summer Music Award nomination for “Best Spiritual Album”.
