Biography

“Tha Tribe,” has been making their way around the powwow circle for a number of years. Based in Lawrence, Kansas, Tha Tribe is a Pow Wow music collective composed of singers from various tribal backgrounds representing the Cherokee, Hopi-Tewa, Apache, Oneida, Menominee, Shoshone-Bannock, Sioux, Northern Ute, and Hallwa-Saponi Tribes.

Tha Tribe deliver a championship performance of fierce singing and drumming recorded live at the famous Woodland Bowl at the Menominee Nation Pow-Wow. Singing straight songs in the traditional style, Tha Tribe’s raw energy conveys the essence of the Pow-Wow with these tree-shaking songs.

Tha Tribe merges tough singing with lyrics narrating love’s ups and downs on their first recording of Round Dance songs. Presented as a radio show, Tha Quiet Storm is where Rez humor and urban culture collide and Native tradition is catapulted to the future.
